'Twas the Night Before Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Ten little puppies playing, including Weezer the little mouse;
The fireplace turned off and baby gates placed with care,
In hopes they would sleep soundly, as the humans were not going to be there;
The mom and the dad stepped out of the house,
to do some last minute shopping for these 10 little mouth's;
Mama in her coat, and I in my hat,
had just closed the door, we'll be right back.
When out in the kitchen there arose such a clatter,
a gate had fallen and the ten little puppies all scatter.
Away from the dining room Suki flew like a flash,
to go hide in the office, She didn't bat a lash.
Shasta bear was not sure what happened just then
Ten little puppies playing, including Weezer the little mouse;
The fireplace turned off and baby gates placed with care,
In hopes they would sleep soundly, as the humans were not going to be there;
The mom and the dad stepped out of the house,
to do some last minute shopping for these 10 little mouth's;
Shasta bear was not sure what happened just then
but he was soon overwhelmed, and was now, their playpen
They ran all about with bouncing and prancing,
What a ball they were having just yapping and squealing,
They knew in a moment they were free and clear.
No one was around for them to fear.
Suki was under the desk and was beginning to cry,
and Shasta decided that it was time to sigh,
Tearing through the house those ten puppies they flew,
Shasta gave up and didn't know what to do.
Then all of a sudden there was noise in the yard
the puppies all stopped to listen real hard.
The humans came home and Zoe was happy,
to be saved from these puppies who were who were biting her belly.
The door slowly opened and in came one foot,
the puppies mobed the door and were instantly underfoot;
The humans cried out in horror and surprise,
"Oh my gosh this is unwise!".
Their eyes -- how they smiled! their tails, how merry!
Their barks were of happiness, and the front door was no boundry!
Out the front door they all ran in a flash,
to play in the yard, what a mad dash!
There was Brenny, and Scrappy; Smudges, Benji and Dot
Sherlock and Weezer; Autumn, Snowy and Patches
The stump of a tree; a branch from the yard,
Those were the new playthings it was like a big schoolyard;
They forgot about Shasta and Suki still hid,
Shaking like a leaf trying to stay off the grid.
The humans both laughed and put down their things,
to play in the yard with all ten younglings;
Suki in the window and Shasta in the yard
Zoe misbehaved and bit a pup dreadfully hard;
With a yelp and a screech the puppy gave a shrill cry,
Not wanting to let go, it was time for Zoe to say good-bye,
Off to her kennel to go into time out,
correcting is ok, biting is a a no-no, she sat in her house and started to pout;
Playtime is over and it's time to go in,
The humans had to clean up, oh what a day this has been!
Time for bed you ten little pups, into their pen to sleep they went,
Zoe misbehaved and bit a pup dreadfully hard;
With a yelp and a screech the puppy gave a shrill cry,
Not wanting to let go, it was time for Zoe to say good-bye,
Off to her kennel to go into time out,
correcting is ok, biting is a a no-no, she sat in her house and started to pout;
Playtime is over and it's time to go in,
The humans had to clean up, oh what a day this has been!
Time for bed you ten little pups, into their pen to sleep they went,
Not understanding what the humans said as they stepped out of their sight
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."
