Oh the events that unfold when the humans are not around.... See that gate in the photo? Yah, that brown gate? Well today after my humans fed my puppies and cleaned up after them and put them back into their box so they would be safe and sound when they left, Brenny... my wonderful son...knocked it over and then the flood of puppies happened! I tried to tell my humans they could get out, but they either don't speak dog or my mind control isn't working. Anyway 7 of them decided to make a break for it and couldn't get back in. Us big dogs were outside enjoying the lovely day and we all watched through the door, much to our amusement. They had a blast at first then tuckered out pretty quick. My humans came home only a short time later, much to their surprise only to see 3 pups in the box, the others were all curled up in a corner where they slept earlier today.
Ahhhh.... now this bugger was a surprise.Yes, it's a roundworm. My puppies are on wormer to take care of these pesky little nasties, but what got my humans nervous is that this particular one was coughed up by a pup. It looks small, but for a puppy this is HUGE! Our friends in the medicine world reassured us that this is OK. They sometimes get into places where they shouldn't be and not just in their poop. (The worms not the puppies) As long as the wormer is working all of the worms should die and everyone will be healthy. No worries!
Feeding time! My humans are getting smarter at feeding my puppies. They have their food in a pie pan now. Good thinking humans! Now their feet can't get into the bowls, but they find a way anyway... as you can see... They are eating solids two times a day and will be going to three by the middle of the week. When they nurse, it's just for a little then they want something more. That's a good thing. Everyone is growing so fast and running all over the place! It's strange to think that just 4 short weeks ago they were just born.
