6 Month Old Pointer Mix Puppy Birthday

I was told that TODAY I'm 6 months old! My human said it's my half birthday. Hehehehe...I so don't know what that is, but OK... I'll go with it. Sounds like fun...   So now that it's almost over I'm having my human tell you about my day and how AWESOME it was. (grin)

First, we went into the yard and they let me dig up roots. These things are fun to crunch on and superior tug-of-war players!

I got to hunt for birds. Yes! That's ME!!! Right there with my foot up. I'm concentrating really hard on that bird, but it keeps moving and so do I. My human show's me this on the thing she's writing this on...When it stops, I stop. It moves, I move... then I POUNCE!!! No wait, I think that's wrong. That's what a cat does. OH! I stand still... with my foot up. Gotta remember the foot.

 Then my human took out all these things and put them, one by one in a bowl and mixed it all up. Oh WOW did it smell GOOD!

 

But whats this??? Whats this left in the bowl? For ME??? Ooohh... (lick lick lick) Mmmmm.... (lick lick lick) Thanks! I don't EVER get to do this. I'm liking these half birthdays. But guess what? There's MORE!!! YES! Really. Can it get better than this???

 

Oh yes it did! I not only got the bowl, but I got the spoon too! I think I'm in doggie heaven! So then, she put whatever this awesome stuff was into the really hot box. I don't know what it is, only that it made some of my whiskers smell funny when I got too close to it. I don't like that thing, but my human isn't afraid of it. She puts stuff in there all the time. I just wait for her to close it up and look in through its window.

 Then... wait! It gets better! After my humans ate and they cleaned up their mess... they have more than one bowl for their food. I don't know why because they put it all in one bowl at the end... I don't understand my humans, but they love me and I love them. So anyway, I was told to go out on the deck and "Blide". That means wait there and don't move. (sniff sniff sniff) I think I smell that stuff that was in the bowl earlier.. I wonder if I'm going to get more?

 I was told to close my eyes and I would get a surprise.. (sniff sniff sniff) Oooh... I think I know what it IS!!!

WOAH! ALL MINE??

My humans are so awesome! This is the thing my human made for me! All for ME because it's my half birthday!!!

Nom...Nom...Nom...Nom...

Before anyone asks, yes, I only had half. I gave the other half to my buddy Shasta. He may be old and grouchy with me because I have more energy than he does, but he can still share my cake. It IS my half birthday after all.

Pointer Puppy's First Hike

Hay everyone! My human has been very busy lately. She is looking in the same book over and over for hours on end lately. I tap her with my paw or my nose sometimes to get her to take me out and to take me for a walk... She's so focused... I hope whatever she's going to do is over soon... but... I had a surprise a few days ago... We had puppy day!

It started like any morning.... hehehehe...  my humans taking photos of me in bed... "Really?" and picking me up... "please put me down, I know I'm getting big".

THEN

Rasha came over to visit, but she stayed outside... Hmm... My humans were rushing around the house picking up ...we must be going somewhere. They always do that when we get ready to go somewhere, its a strange habit, but OK. I was right though. they put Shasta in the back of the truck, Rasha got to sit in the front seat with her human and me and my human were all stretched out in the backseat. Ahhhhh.....

This is going to be a fun day if Rasha is coming. We always get to play! Maybe we're going to the dog park? I know what that is now... Its the place that's really big, all fenced in and we get to run off our leashes. But nooooooo.... no dog park today...My humans put water in my backpack...kinda heavy but I can handle it, and we were going to explore in the woods!!! WEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!



 

Hay! Hay!! HAY!!!! WAIT FOR ME!!!!! I don't like to be in the back. I'm the leader you all should follow me.... or just go off on your own and my human and I will explore by ourselves. Hmph!

By the way...... I missed you guys....where did you go?

Rasha said they went all the way around and found a stream to play in. I was getting really hot so I wanted to go, but nope.... iiitsss... DOG PARK TIME!!!! Lets PLAY!

 

Then we went to the stream Rasha was talking about....

 

Wow.. this is really cool... whats this?? hmmm... smells neat...maybe I can dig it out... yah, (digdigdig) I think I can... (splash!) Oops. I think I slipped on something. Woh that water is cold, but refreshing. My human didn't seem to mind that I was laying in the water, but it made digging easier... (digdigdig) HA! I got it! a good smelling rock with green stuff on it. hehehe. My prize!

 After all that digging and running

and playing, I needed a nap. Ahhhhh... nice cool shade to lay in.... but it wasn't long before we had to go meet back with Rasha and Shasta. We all got groomed and dried off. When we were ready, we were packed back in the truck again and my humans went to get food for themselves... Umm... hay... excuse me... I haven't had my lunch yet....did you bring my food???

What? Whats this??? Mmmmm.... I don't know what this is, but it's GOOD!

And that's my day..... ha! fooled you! it's not over yet! Rasha came over to the house and we got to play with a new toy we found while we were exploring. It's a really hard ball covered in stuff that I get to chew. I forget what my humans called it, but we played keep away and got to play in the water from the long green thing hanging on the house.

We got wet and really DIRTY!!! YES! Best day ever!
