Snowy's 1st Vacation

GOING FOR ANOTHER TRUCK RIDE...

A Really...   Really...Long one...

We stopped a few times so I could stretch my legs and go portty... I scared these REALLY big birds that sounded really funny when they flew away... My human said they were geese and it was OK I scared them away. I don't know why, I just wagged my tail.

When we got to where we were going,  There was this house that had these two Poodles living there.... My human knew everyone and the Poodles knew her so I thought it must be OK. We played in their back yard for a while until my human was OK that we all got along. We did of course.. duh! One is called Suzi... She's the greyish one and Duchess is the all black one. I thought I was fun! These two are a blast!

Litter Update: Ruby, Deacon, Patty and Rasha

Hello everyone! I hope your enjoying the posts lately. Since we are having a very big thunderstorm right now I thought to ask my human if she would write an update about my brothers and sisters. We have been getting photos off and on for a bit now and I think it's a great time to show you all of them!

Ruby (Smudges):

Her mom sent these to us just a few days ago. She says that she LOVES car rides now. She looks just like me but a lot darker and she wears her ears forward while I sweep mine to the side. LOL She's so cute!

Deacon (Sherlock):

Deacon and I are pretty close and we get to see him a lot at the dog park. We went on our adventure together earlier and the photo on the left is his pouty face because he can't get on the couch. The photo on the right is him watching a video of when he was little in the litter. I think he misses us.

Patty (Patches):

My sister is getting really big. She was the last one in the litter to get a home. She has really big ears! Her humans say she loves to snatch things from around the house and hide them under their bed. hehehe... I do that too! She gets to go an an adventure soon too. Her human is going to stay with her for a lot of days after so she can heal well. She also LOVES to sunbathe... yah.. I do too.

Rasha (Autumn):

My sister is a pure HAM! That is until she comes to visit and then we run all over the woods. She's still fast, but she's bigger than I am and I'm better at heading her off at the pass... LOL She loves sleeping in and playing couch potato while inside with her humans. She gets to visit her humans friend when he goes to drill... I don't know what that is, but she says she goes on a long ride to get there.

(16 weeks old - Deacon, Ruby, Rasha and Patty)

That's all I have for now... The storm is over and I'm gonna take a nap. I didn't want my human to put these in, but she thought they were funny. The one of the left is me before my adventure and the one on the right is after. I look so silly! I lost my appetite for a little so I lost some weight, but I've got it back and gaining the weight I lost back quickly. I'm feeling better and better every day!

I love my humans!

Snowy Gets Fixed

Hay there everyone! I have just been through the biggest adventure of my life! I was confused at first because one day, my human fed me dinner early and didn't give me any treats for the rest of the night! I though I was in trouble or something... Then, she got me up really early one morning and we went for a ride. She put some itchy collar on me too... The sun wasn't even up yet. What was going on?

That's not the worst part... The WORST part was when she left me! yes!!! my MOM left me. She brought me to this small place that had a lot of other scared dogs and cats. There were so many of them being put into cages and their humans leaving them! "NOOOO!!!! I don't wanna go! Put me down" I cried, but my human held me close and told me to be brave. I was scared and I piddled a little. She put me in a tiny cage that was just big enough for me to stand up in, gave me one last look, spoke to some other humans and walked away. SHE LEFT ME!!!!

But that's not really the worst part, I fibbed. That was the worst part at that moment. it got worse! Oh yes did it get worse. The only good part was that my brother Deacon (Sherlock) was there with me. He showed up right after my human left and he was really scared too.... he piddled in his cage I think. What was happening to us? Did our humans not want us anymore???

After the last dog was put in his cage and his human left, the other humans that were there all the time put us all in a truck. I whispered to Deacon... "Where are we going?" "Are we in trouble?" He didn't know either. He was hungry and embarrassed that he piddled in his cage. The truck smelled funny and I missed my home...I had an accident too....

There was a husky across from me... his name was Harold, he was older and really scared. He kept howling and yelling to have someone let him out. I tried to talk with him, because he was older than me you know, and see if he knew why we were all here, but he was too frightened and didn't hear me. The cat above him just stared at me. I don't know how to talk with cats so I just stared back...cats are strange.

After the truck started to move most of us fell asleep, some got sick and others just cried. We were all very frightened and wanted to go home. When we stopped. the door came up, we all stood in our cages and this is where we were...

It was a very strange place, but smelled oddly familiar. It reminded me of the place my human brought me when I was sick and we napped on the floor. Maybe this wasn't going to be a bad place after all. I did miss my home though. I'm happy the people that brought me kept Deacon and I together. We had my humans name on both our cages so they thought we were together. That was nice. We kept each other company.

My human found this video and asked if this is what happened... I watched most of it... haayyy... that's the human that I saw when I woke up. The one in the video... that's the human who came in to see me. I remember them..and hayyy...that's the same blanket I had! WOW!  Everything was very OK after they gave me that shot to relax.... Zzzzzzz.....

Then it was back in my cage again. Deacon was right there too. I asked if he was scared still and he said no. He was a little uncomfortable and didn't know why, but he wasn't scared anymore. The last thing I remember before going to sleep is Deacon asking... "Pssstt...Snowy, are you awake? I heard a noise."

The next morning we were all checked to make sure we were still OK and put back in the truck in the same spots we were in when we came here... hmmm... Where are we going now I wonder. I was tired and most of the dogs and cats that were really scared the first time were just sorta scared this time... Harold was sad and they must have given him something to calm him more. I don't really know because us puppies were put together and the older ones went somewhere else....the cat above him just stared....I stared back.... Cats are VERY strange. Most of us fell asleep again and when we stopped we were back where we started!

And there was my human!!! YAY!!!!!! She didn't leave me!!! She petted deacon through his cage and said he was a good boy. My human hasn't picked up on dog language yet, but he was asking her to let him out. He wanted to go home and didn't want to stay there anymore. Humans are silly. She just kept petting him and saying he was a good boy and that his daddy will be there soon to get him.

Sorry Deacon, I'm going HOME! I'll see you soon!!!

UPDATE:

So after a day and not feeling too swift, my human told me what happened.. Oohhh.... Hmmmm... Okayyyy... Gotcha....  I still don't understand, but I gave her a kiss anyway for trying. Here's my belly from yesterday. It looks way better today 'cause I get to clean it myself. That funny green mark, my human calls it a tattoo so other humans know what they did to me. All I know is that I can't WAIT to play with Suki and Shasta again... my tummy aches.

A day in the life of Snowy

Hay! Hi! How are you??? I'm sorry my human hasn't written in a while, we have been very busy these days, and I caught a cold. I haven't been myself lately. I know some of you have been looking for a new post. I've been feeling better now and I've been nipping at my human to write lately, but something always comes up and she gets distracted... and they say us pointers get distracted easily. HA!

Okie dokie... where shall I begin... hmmm... well... lets go back to my last note... wow, it was when Penny was visiting for a week... Ahhhh... Now I remember.

Well... Since then I have been quite busy....

We play hide and go seek almost every morning... then it's nap time after lunch and at night... I help my human with her homework.....

Then Suki and I play outside for a few hours... When it's cold and rainy we play inside... then it's more hide and go seek...That's my favorite game you know...Something always gives me away though... I really don't know how my humans keep finding me!

Oh! Yah! My human got me this really cool ball!!!! It's really bright and smells sooooo good, but I don't chew on it. My human showed me that if I move it maybe treats will come out from inside! It's like magic! I've learned really fast how to push it all over the house with my nose. It's a lot of fun! But not as fun as playing on the deck when my human is trying to clean it... She laughs when I play in the water. It's cold but fun to chase!

Oh, and we can't forget about the car rides! I LOVE car rides... mostly. This last time, wasn't so much fun... I got sick. My human took me on a really long ride. We stopped a lot so I could potty and meet some of her friends, but this one time... I don't know... I just didn't feel good. She said it was OK that I got sick, but I still felt bad. I slept the rest of the way to this really cool place where we stopped for a really long time.

At every stop, and after I pottied, I get to play with my ball in the back of the truck like the big dogs do. Maybe someday I'll be big so ride back here, but for now, I'm happy to stay cozy on the inside.... speaking of inside...

This was the place when we stayed for a long time... those are my humans and their friends. You see me?? Way in the back? In that room in the back? They brought me inside and the nice human took her big dogs away and I got to stay in their room because it was cold outside.... I ate all their food.

So there you have it. I had LOTS of fun.... what?? Wait... oh yah... Autumn came to visit today too! Her name is Rasha now. I'll tell you about that visit tomorrow, but here's a photo of what we did... nothing unusual...just playing. She's bigger than I am, but I'm stronger. I think.
